January 31st, 2010Fashion AccessoriesDoing makeup is essential whether you are in office or going out. Everyone wants to look attractive, attract attention, and be found pleasant by the opposite sex. There is something natural and instinctive about it. Whether you are married or single, young or middle aged, grooming is a part of our nature.
So how to go about applying make up? The basic stages/ingredients are described briefly below. The amount of makeup depends on the occasion. A light makeup does well for informal occasions, and a heavy makeup for very important public occasions.
Foundation: This helps to create a smooth surface over which other products are then applied.
Concealer: If you have dark circles and other marks, use a concealer to you advantage.
Powder: This is what creates the smooth layer that attracts attention. Wrinkles get hidden, and the ugliness takes on a new shine.
Blush: If nature did not give you a natural blush, help yourself with an artificial one. This defines the bone structure to prominence.
Bronzer: To obtain a glowing surface.
Lip liner: Allows the lipstick to stay on longer.
Lipstick: The mouth is a major sexual attraction. A wide variety of lipsticks are available matte, satin, or glossy.
Eyeliner: The eyes are what do the talking when you are still some distance away from talking to your mate. Attract the mate, invite her, say you like her youre your eyes first. Eye mascara and eye shadow enhance the appeal further.
What type of makeup to apply, how much, and when depends often on your age, skin, looks, and occasion. Observing yourself under different makeup choices can help you find out what looks good on you.

January 27th, 2010Fashion AccessoriesWhen you suffer from eczema or psoriasis, your skin cracks, thus presenting you with painful slits or fissures. They cause agony even while doing simple movements. Your skin cracks and it can give you a terrible pain. The hands and feet are the most vulnerable spots for this problem. But other spots like the mouth, lips, cheeks etc. too can be affected. Usually, the areas between toes and on the heels are affected. These fissures, if neglected, can cause infection. Generally, women who wear open-backed heels and slides are affected.
Treatment for the cracked skin:
Soak yourself: The best treatment for dry skin is to have a good bath every night before going to sleep. This enables your skin cells to absorb water, since these cells are like sponge. You can also soak the affected body part for about 20 minutes in warm water and then pat dry.
Apply petroleum products: Once you are through with your bath, apply a coating of petroleum jelly product. Then put on a pair of socks for your feet or a pair of light cotton gloves for your hands to seal the moisture. These petroleum products work far better than commercial moisturizers, since they do not have the same sealing effects.
Stick the cracks: You can apply glue to ease the pain caused by the fissures. This takes the air out of the nerve endings and thus sticks the slits. This procedure is completely safe for slits and minor cuts. However, avoid using this method on deep wounds.
Avoid tartar toothpaste: If you suffer from cracked lips, minimize your usage of tartar toothpaste. This toothpaste contains compounds that irritate the mucuous membranes and other sensitive tissues. These toothpastes leave the skin cracked and cause a rash which itches around the mouth.
Following some of the above mentioned steps can help you in preventing/curing cracked skin.

January 20th, 2010Fashion AccessoriesA picture-perfect smile is often the first thing we notice about celebrities. And each camera-ready grin is unique.
“A round face, like Queen Latifah’s, looks best with teeth that are slightly rounded at the edges,” said Dr. Michael Schneider, a cosmetic dentist. “Usher has a square face – his teeth are more square and slightly smaller. Will Smith, who has a rectangular face, has teeth that are similar to Usher’s, yet with slightly sharper line angles.”
“With a heart-shaped face like Drew Barrymore’s, the chin is more noticeable. The teeth can’t line up like [those with] a square or rectangular face and need to have some slight rotation, showing characterization.”
However, some of us weren’t born with a superstar grin. The dazzling smile you see in magazines and movies or on the street may be the result of cosmetic dentistry procedures, such as veneers.
To avoid the pain that can come with applying regular veneers, people are turning to Lumineers by Cerinate.
Unlike regular veneers, Lumineers doesn’t require drilling or grinding down sensitive tooth structure. The procedure is minimally invasive, making anesthesia and pain shots unnecessary.
Clinically proven to last up to 20 years, Lumineers is contact lens-thin and provides instant teeth straightening and permanent whitening, transforming misshapen teeth into a naturally beautiful and perfect smile. It is a convenient substitute for braces and can be used on worn teeth to strengthen them and prevent further wear. Lumineers also can be placed over crowns and bridges to improve aesthetics.
A Lumineers application can be completed in two short visits to the dentist.
Approximately 8,500 dentists use Lumineers, made from Cerinate, a porcelain developed by Santa Maria, Calif.-based Den-Mat Corp. It comes with a five-year replacement warranty.

January 10th, 2010Fashion AccessoriesTwo of the most common skin conditions are the presence of moles and dermatitis. Moles can have more serious consequences than the irritation of dermatitis.
Moles occur when the cells in the skin that give it its pigment, called melanocytes, grow in clusters. These cells normally grow throughout the skin, but when too many grow in the same place a mole occurs. Most moles appear before the age of 25, but some may appear much later. Moles can remain static or change over time. Although most are not dangerous, some can be malignant and lead to melanoma. Any mole that oozes or becomes painful or sensitive should be checked out by a dermatologist. Moles that suddenly appear after the age of 25 or begin to change or grow should also be evaluated.
When evaluating your moles, keep the following in mind. Moles should be round. If your moles are asymmetrical, or irregular in shape, have it evaluated. If you find a mole that is larger than , mention it to your doctor or dermatologist. If you find that your mole has an irregular or jagged edge, or is not all one color, have your doctor look at it. Finally, any mole that is red or blue may be cause for concern.
Treating moles is not difficult. If a mole is embarrassing, or becomes irritated under your clothing, you may ask your doctor to remove it. Moles can be frozen with a chemical, after which they dry up and fall off. Other moles can be simply cut off of the skin. Often, doctors will remove entire moles that seem suspicious and test the tissue for cancer. If any malignancy is found, they may cut out a slightly larger area of skin and then suture the site closed.
Check your skin regularly for changes in your moles. If any seem suspicious, or any changes have occurred, let your doctor know. Preventing a problem is as easy as going on mole patrol.

January 5th, 2010Fashion AccessoriesDo you have a love for fashion? If that love includes designing your own clothes or fashion accessories, like handbags, have you ever thought about making a living as a fashion designer? When it comes to being a fashion designer, many individuals feel that it is a dream of theirs that just isnt destined to become a reality. While this is sometimes the case, it doesnt always have to be. With the right willpower and the need to succeed, you can easily make money as a fashion designer.
When it comes to making money as a fashion designer, many individuals believe that they can only be successful if they see their designs on the runways in New York or Paris. While this would definitely help, you dont have to be a famous, well-known fashion designer to make money as one. Did you know that you can make money as a fashion designer making your own clothes right from your own living room or home office? You can and if you would like to know more on how you can go about doing so, you will want to read on.
As you likely already know, many fashion designers start out with simple drawings on paper. Many have the dream of turning their drawings into real pieces of clothing or fashion accessories; therefore, many do so. What is nice about making a living as a fashion designer is that you have a number of different options. For instance, if you were just starting out small, to see how your designs would sell, you can not only be the designer, but the maker as well. If you would like to hire assistance, either right away or after your business took off, you could do as well.
If you are interested in starting your own fashion design business, you will want to think about having your own online website. In fact, many fashion designers sell their products exclusively on their own online websites, not in some big fancy fashion store. Of course, if your fashions take off, you could later choose to do so if you want. If you also want to sell your own fashions locally, you may want to think about renting some business space. If you carefully choose your space, you cannot only have a sales floor, but you may also be able to have a warehouse where you can make and store your fashions. This ideal if you are interested in running both an online fashion store and a storefront one.
If you have been interested in being a fashion designer for a while now, there is a good chance that already have some of the many supplies needed. For instance, you probably already have a large selection of drawing materials, a sewing machine, and likely even a collection of fabrics. If that is the case, you will find that the startup costs associated with getting your fashion design business up and running are minimal. For many, it is the cost of starting a business that poses the biggest problem, but it may not necessarily be a problem for you.
Of course, when it comes to running a business, even just a small one, you need to remember to abide by all local, state, and federal laws. For more information on running a small business, like a fashion design business, out of your home, you may want to think about speaking with your local government officials. If they cannot assist you, they should be able to point you in the direction of someone who can.
